FATHER and daughter duo Toga Luca and Litia Tuinuve were among more than 80 villagers who cast their vote in Maniava Village, Ra, yesterday.

Mr Luca said seeing his daughter cast her vote for the first time was a milestone.

“This is for her future,” he said.

“As a father, I want to see the next government ensure that she is able to get a good education and be able to get a job.

“Right now she has the drive to continue her education at tertiary level but there isn’t a lot of opportunity for her.

“I hope and pray that the next government will be able to help her achieve her dreams.”

He said as a farmer, caring for his daughter’s future was a priority.

“I’m not looking at just the next four years. “I am looking at the next five to 10 years because that is when my daughter should be working.

“And she should be able to get a job that will allow her to take care of herself.

“This is why I came to vote and this is why I hope that the next government will be able to look after our future generations.”
